Police in in the south of Spain have arrested 28 people involved in lottery scams. The swoop, which took place in Almeria, caught the fraudsters who send out emails telling people they have won the lottery according to the Times.
When the recipients claim their winnings they are then hit for various 'fees' in order to get their jackpot cheque.
Unfortunately these 28 workers will probably be replaced by another 28 within days by the Mr Bigs behind the scams. Indeed, Spanish police have arrested many lotto scamsters previously to little affect. So don’t relax and believe those winning emails!
