Four Wednesday Lotto Winners
The Lotto jackpot on Wednesday 25 August was won by no less than four tickets, so the £1,731,568 jackpot prize fund gave each of the lottery winners a prize of £432,892. That might sound a little disappointing for a jackpot payout, particularly when you consider the fact that the odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 13,983,816, but the reason so many tickets matched all six main numbers is probably because they were all in the range 1 to 30. To be more specific, the lottery results were 05, 10, 12, 17, 28 and 30, and the Bonus Ball was 47, making it the only number to fall outside the “days of the month” range.

Online Lottery Ticket Wins Jackpot
A National Lottery ticket purchased online was one of three that won the jackpot in the Lotto game on Saturday 14 August. The jackpot for that particular draw was worth £4,382,550, so the final value of the online lottery ticket was £1,460,850. Regular visitors to this site will know that the odds of winning a lottery jackpot (or any other prize) with an online lottery ticket are exactly the same as with one bought offline, but when an online player manages to beat the odds and actually land the top prize it is always encouraging, so we are delighted to pass on the good news about this latest win.

Lotto Winner Goes Back to School
Lottery winners often choose to use their new-found wealth to finance a life of luxury, but a 34 year old Lotto winner who scooped £1,117,779 on Saturday 7 August is planning to do something quite different – namely go to university and study Information Technology! Wayne Hughes, who lives in Holyhead, plays the Lotto game every Wednesday and Saturday, and uses meaningful birthdays as the basis of his selections. The lottery results on Saturday 7 August which made Wayne a brand new millionaire were 13, 16, 22, 25, 31, 39, but he didn’t find out that he had won until Monday night when his mum checked his numbers and called him on the phone to break the good news.

Yorkshire Teen Wins Lotto Jackpot
An 18 year old National Lottery player who lives in West Yorkshire has more than a million reasons to be cheerful after winning £1,117,779 in the Lotto draw on Saturday 7 August. Stacey Bywater lives near Holmfirth and she won a quarter share of the £4.47 million jackpot with the numbers 13, 16, 22, 25, 31 and 39. The win came just a couple of months after her father had dreamed about a family member striking it rich, but despite the premonition (or happy coincidence, depending on your point of view) Stacey initially thought that she had won just £70!

Double Rollover Winners Go Public
A couple from Cheadle Heath in Greater Manchester who won the Lotto double rollover jackpot on Wednesday 4 August have gone public, and we can tell you that the lucky winners were Peter and Jacqueline Redikin. The couple have been playing the Lotto game ever since it first began, and have always played the same two lines from the very beginning. One of the lines played by the couple consists of the numbers 14, 17, 22, 24, 38 and 43, so when those exact same number were drawn on Wednesday, the couple landed the monster jackpot that all lottery players dream of.

Lotto Jackpot Shared by Four
Four lottery tickets shared the Lotto jackpot on Saturday 7 August, proving once again that it is perfectly possible to beat odds of 1 in 13,983,816 and become a millionaire in a matter of moments. When the lottery draw began on Saturday night the owners of the four winning tickets were, like millions of other players, only hopeful about the possibility of succeeding, but less than a minute later those all-important numbers had been selected and the owners – whether they realised it or not – had joined the exclusive club of lottery winners. The jackpot was worth £4,471,116, so when that sum was split four ways it gave each ticket a value of £1,117,779.

One Ticket Wins Double Rollover
The double rollover jackpot in the Lotto game on Wednesday 4 August was won by one ticket, so somebody somewhere is either coming to terms with the fact they have landed a prize worth £11,178,334 or they are completely unaware of their success. If you haven’t already checked your lottery tickets for the previous draw then you might want to do so now – the lottery results were 14, 17, 22, 24, 38 and 43. The Bonus Ball, which isn’t required for the jackpot but is essential for a second tier prize, was number 21.

London 2012 Lottery Balloon Launched
A hot air balloon has been launched by National Lottery organisers in the UK to thank players for the money that their gaming has helped to raise for the London 2012 Olympic Games. The hot air balloon has already been seen in Birmingham and over the next few weeks it will visit Manchester, Cardiff and Sheffield as it tours the nation. When the London 2012 lottery balloon visits each city it will be accompanied by a variety of top athletes, and some National Lottery players will even be able to take to the skies in it for a short while.

Midweek Lotto Double Rollover
On average, midweek Lotto jackpots tend to be worth less than their Saturday counterparts, but that isn’t the case this week when National Lottery players will have the chance to win a double rollover jackpot worth around £10 million. That’s just £2 million less than a regular EuroMillions jackpot, but whilst the odds of winning the top prize in the EuroMillions game are 1 in 76,275,360, the odds of winning a Lotto jackpot are 1 in 13,983,816. This makes the midweek Lotto double rollover jackpot a very attractive opportunity and one that will almost certainly encourage most players to buy themselves an extra ticket or two.

Rollover Jackpot for Nottingham Couple
A lottery rollover jackpot worth £7,706,631 was won by a couple from Nottingham after they successfully matched all six main numbers in the Lotto game on Saturday 17 July. The lottery results which made it happen were 12, 28, 32, 43, 44, 45 and the bonus ball was number 20. Ivan Westbury and his wife Susan tend to play Lucky Dip selections and it was Susan who discovered the win when she got her lottery tickets whilst shopping at her local Tesco supermarket. That was on the morning after the draw, and it will be a Sunday that both Ivan and Susan are sure to remember for the rest of their lives.
