Lottery Luck in Bolton
There is plenty of lottery luck in Bolton if recent results are anything to go by. Just recently Brian Caswell of Bolton made the headlines when he won a £25 million share of the EuroMillions jackpot. And now another Brian of Bolton has won a lottery prize, because Brian Merga and his wife Susan landed more than £68,000 in the Lotto draw of Wednesday 10 June, 2009.

Irish Lottery Win Approved
A National Lottery winner in Ireland has been given the go-ahead to collect a €350,000 prize after previously having to leave the National Lottery HQ without a penny. Dermot Finglas had been told that the lottery organisers needed time to make certain ‘clarifications’ about the claim, but all of the questions have now been answered and Mr Finglas is officially €350,000 richer.

Brit Wins EuroMillions!
A British lottery player won a half-share of the massive £50 million EuroMillions jackpot on Friday 12 June, 2009. The winner is 73 year old Brian Caswell from Greater Manchester, and he won £24,951,269. The other winning ticket was bought in Ireland, so when all is said and done our own corner of the world did pretty well!

A EuroMillions triple rollover jackpot worth around £50 million can be won this Friday 12 June, 2009, and that’s because nobody won the top prize last week. A new Village SOS scheme run by the Big Lottery Fund in partnership with the BBC was launched this week. The scheme is designed to help regenerate the communities in six villages across the UK. It will do this by inviting villages to submit ideas for business ventures which could be brought into life with lottery funding.

Lottery Sales Success
Sales of lottery tickets in the year to 31 March, 2009, gave the UK’s National Lottery organiser its best year in a decade, according to recent reports. Sales of all National Lottery games (including scratchcards) totalled £5,149 million, compared with £4,966 the year before. The sales success is good news for the company which now enters its third lottery licence period.

Two Tickets Share Lotto Jackpot
Two tickets shared the Lotto jackpot on Saturday 23 May, 2009 by successfully matching the numbers 12, 17, 32, 41, 44 and 48. The bonus ball was number 15, but the owners of the jackpot-winning tickets didn’t need it – they had each won a half-share of £7,812,154.
