Powerball Steals Lottery Limelight

Two players won the UK Lotto jackpot on Saturday 18 May, but the lottery limelight was well and truly stolen by the Powerball game in the USA, which saw its biggest ever jackpot landed by a single ticket. Saturday’s Powerball jackpot was worth $590.5 million, beating the previous record of $587.5 million, and the winning ticket was sold in the state of Florida. Two Players Scoop Lotto Jackpot!

Winning any lottery jackpot is a once-in-a-lifetime achievement for most people, so winning a double rollover jackpot in a game that doesn’t often see double rollovers is something very special indeed. Two players did precisely that last night by matching all six of the main numbers in the midweek Lotto draw. Fifth EuroMillions Jackpot Rollover

EuroMillions lottery players saw the jackpot roll over for the fifth time in a row last night after none of the tickets entered for the game managed to win the £43 million that was available. The EuroMillions results for Tuesday 14 May were 07, 08, 24, 27 and 36, and the Lucky Star numbers were 05 and 11. Although no player won the jackpot, over 2.06 million consolation prizes were landed, and the next game this Friday will give fans the chance to win a top prize of around £53 million!

No Jail for Lottery Fraudster

A shop worker who tried to defraud a lottery syndicate out of a prize worth £79,887 has been given a 12 months suspended jail sentence. Imran Pervais, who lives in Kent, was working at his family’s convenience store when the incident took place. Callum Crosier, who leads a syndicate of players at his workplace, asked Pervais to check their tickets. Pervais did so, but when it became apparent that a significant prize had been won, he told Mr Crosier that it was worth just £10.
