Grandfather Splashes Out
Winning £3.5million in March 2006 was great news for retired
factory worker Bob Bradbury, but even better news for his family.
Bob, aged 83 has given most of the money away to children’s
charities and to helping his family’s dreams come true. This
has included a summer holiday for the family to Spain, a new house
for his grandson and family, a motor-home for a grandson, a Mercedes
for his son, a pet-rabbit for a great granddaughter, expansion of
the hair-dressing business run by a grandson, and now, a treat for
great grandson Lee.
Lee has just finished his GCSEs and was looking for a stylish way
to arrive at his school’s end-of-term bash at Manor Park Country
House, near Swansea. In steps great-grandfather Bob, who pays £1,000
for a helicopter trip for the two of them. Lee’s spectacular
arrival at the ball did not go unnoticed as he was wearing a handmade
pink raw-silk suit.
