Olympic Scratchard launch
The new ‘Go for Gold’ Olympic scratchcard was launched on 27th
July as part of a massive fund raising programme which will see
the UK National Lottery contributing up to £1.5billion towards the
estimated cost of hosting the games (approximately £2.375bn) via
the Olympic Lottery Distribution Fund.
Denise Lewis told BBC News 24, ""Thinking back to how
the lottery helped me as an athlete, you realise how significant
it is leading up to 2012. We need people to support the Games by
buying the scratch card."
Players of Go For Gold will be vying for a total prize pool of £6,515,896
and an overall 1 in 4.93 chance of winning at the outset, but that
obviously changes over time as people win prizes. Tickets cost £1
each and 11 million are in circulation with a jackpot prize of £2012.
