Get out of Jail Free
The National Lottery Draw on Saturday 26 August 2006 created a
Lucky Dip Bank Holiday double-millionaire. Prison Officer, sorry
that should now read ex-Prison Officer Terry Rooke plans to upgrade
a family trip to Australia by flying First Class, and staying on
for much longer.
Wife Annette was the person to check the numbers of their regular
two Lucky Dip selected tickets on Sunday morning, and she was over
the moon when she realised they’d matched three numbers, then
she realised it was a match four, and by the time she’d matched
six numbers she was screaming for her husband to come and have a
look to check. Terry was covered in sand and cement as he was laying
a new patio, so having checked the numbers he went back and out
of habit finished the job! Having checked the numbers again, and
again, the lucky couple now know for sure that they have won £2.4
million, so Terry plans to retire, watch England defend the Ashes
in Australia, buy a new house (with patio), plus invest in a holiday
home.
The couple used to play regular numbers, but recently switched
to the Lucky Dip option which gave them 10,17,24,31,42 and 49 and
the ticket was bought at Sainsbury’s in Reading.
