Digital Film

£11.5m of Lottery money has been promised towards creating a network of about 250 digital cinemas in the UK. The project forms the heart of the UK Film Council's published strategy of improving access to specialist films which might not be commercial enough to be shown otherwise. Peter Buckingham, Head of distribution at the UK Film Council, said: “The Digital Screen Network will improve access for audiences across the UK to the wide variety of films available.” - 7/3/05
