Baggsie that Win
Mick Timmins from Dudley was out walking his dog on Sunday 10 September
whilst his wife was at home getting the shock of her life. She was
checking the lottery ticket bought for the Saturday 9 September
draw, against the numbers on Teletext. Josie Timmins regularly plays
a selection of random numbers and this week she’d bought her
ticket at Smith’s Newsagent in Tividale.
Having ticked four numbers and thinking they’d maybe won
a few thousand pounds, Josie went on to tick off all six. She had
to sit waiting and pinching herself to believe she was not dreaming
until Mick got home to help her double check. But still that wasn’t
enough and they took the ticket over to Josie’s mum to ask
her to check. A celebratory drink of a cup of tea and a tot of whisky
followed with Josie running round the house screaming, “I’ve
won!”
So now it's the fun part of a fantastic huge win, planning what
to do with a cheque for £2,010,267. First on the ‘to-buy’
list is West Bromwich season tickets for all the family, including
their two sons; then they will look for a new house and go on a
dream holiday to Mexico. Josie is a part-time hairdresser, and Mick
is a Health and Safety Manager but now they know that their, and
their son’s futures are financially secure they are happy
to splash out on all the things they thought were too expensive
before. Micks’ Koi Carp will find them selves in a bigger
pond, and Josie will be recognised for her selection of new handbags.
