2000th National Lottery Millionaire
created
The 2000th Millionaire to be created by the UK’s National
lottery since the first draw on 19/11/1994 comes from Lowestoft
and is a 51year old grandmother.
Stephanie Spindler won the jackpot on 9 December by picking the
numbers 5,8,10,18,20, 46 on a ticket bought at Lowestoft’s
town-centre Tesco. She was watching the draw live on TV and could
not believe it as she ticked off each number. By the time she had
all six she was screaming for her daughter to come out of the kitchen
and check them for her. The numbers are well known to Stephanie
as they are made up from family birthdays and were chosen by her
late husband.
As a sufferer from Multiple Sclerosis, Stephanie is confined to
a wheelchair and lives with her daughter, but now she plans to buy
a plot of land and build two family homes, plus an indoor pool and
gym so that all the family can live close together but have plenty
of space. Sadly Stephanie’s husband Stephen died two years
ago from a heart attack, but if he’d been around to share
in the joy of their win he would have had them booking a trip to
Las Vegas straight away. So, she thinks the family will make the
trip anyway, in his memory.
