Lotto Extra was replaced by the Dream Number game in July 2006. But if you are interested, this is how the game was played...
Choosing your Lotto Extra numbersComplete your main Lotto Game Slip board(s) as usual. Underneath you should now see a yellow panel with two boxes - one will say SAME, the other LUCKY DIP. To play Lotto Extra, either mark the "SAME" box in the yellow panel below a completed board to enter your selected National Lottery Game numbers OR mark the Lucky Dip box to receive six random numbers.
Choosing the number of weeks to playOn every Lotto Extra Play Slip, you'll see a section called 'No. of WEEKS' which lets you use the same set of numbers for up to eight weeks, starting with the next available draw. Select your draw day(s) and date(s). You can play lotto Extra up to 8 weeks in advance, on Wednesday, Saturday, or both. Use the boxes down the left hand side to indicate your preference. You must pay for your required number of weeks in advance. It costs £1 per Lottery Extra play.
Check your Lotto Extra ticket
When you've paid, the retailer will enter your selections into the terminal and give you a ticket - your Lotto Extra numbers will be clearly marked at the bottom. You must check that the numbers you have selected, the number of weeks and the draw date(s) are correct, that the barcoded serial number is clearly readable and that the "void" box on your ticket has not been marked. Then write your name and address on the back. Keep your Lotto Extra ticket safe, you'll need it to check off your numbers in the draw. Don't lose it ! You'll need it to claim your prize, as it is the only proof that you are a winner.
How to win on Lotto Extra
The draw day(s) and date(s) played will be the same for your National Lottery Game entries and Lottery Extra. To win the jackpot, match, in any order, all 6 Lottery Extra numbers drawn in the relevant Lottery Extra draw with any of the 6-number Lottery Extra selections on your ticket.
What You'll WinThe Lotto Extra Jackpot will change from week to week - in the same way as the *normal* National Lottery - however, don't forget you have to match all 6 numbers to win the jackpot. If nobody matches all 6 numbers, the jackpot will continue to grow and grow until somebody wins. If the jackpot still isn't won when it reaches £50 million, the jackpot amount will be shared by players matching 5 numbers (if none, then 4, if none, then 3 etc.) Any balance over £50 million goes into the next draw.
