Lottery Scams

The following is a non-pc version of what you'll find here. It may not be what you want to read, but it may hit home and save your cash. If you don't want to know the truth, please go to this page.

You've received an email saying you've won a UK lottery. Yippee.

Did you enter it?

No, of course you didn't.

So you couldn't have won could you?

These scams only work on greed and ignorance. Sorry, but it is true.

In your heart you know you didn't enter. But the sums involved are huge. So you overlook the fact that you didn't buy a ticket, that you haven't paid the entry fee, etc. But can you also overlook the 'mistake' that the lottery made and has only just got around to informing you? Can you overlook that they ask you to keep it secret?

Will you be so gullable as to send them off a £1,000 registration fee? Will you then send them £10,000 to ease the bank transfers? What about the next £8,000 for the paperwork? And will you go to meet this guy at Amsterdam airport?

Thousands do, and they all lose their money.
