Lottery Ticket
Lottery Tickets are, as the name suggests, the tickets that people buy in order to participate in a lottery game. The vast majority of lottery tickets are small slips of paper, but electronic lottery tickets can also be purchased online for those lotteries that allow players to participate via the internet. There are three main types of lottery ticket, and these are as follows:
Lottery Draw Ticket
This is a lottery ticket for a draw based lottery game such as Lotto or Euromillions. These tickets are printed at the point of sale by a machine known as a lottery terminal. It is important that players check the lottery ticket that is printed to make sure that their numbers have been entered accurately for the correct draw, as any mistakes usually need to be rectified immediately.
Most lottery tickets for draw games are bearer instruments. This means that the person holding the ticket is the one legally entitled to claim any prize it wins, even if they did not purchase it themselves. It is therefore essential that players keep their tickets safe at all times. Tickets are only valid for a certain period.
Lottery Scratch Ticket
These are small card tickets that have a silver-coloured film on one side. They are often described as instant win tickets, because the player only has to scratch the silver film off the card with a coin or thumbnail to discover whether or not they have won a prize. Lottery scratchcard vary in price, and generally speaking the more they cost the bigger the maximum prize will be.
Lottery Pull Ticket
These are similar to lottery scratch tickets, but in this case they feature card tabs that must be pulled away from the main card (instead of scratching off a silver film) to reveal whether or not the player has won a prize. As with scratchcards, the more expensive a pull ticket is, the higher the jackpot prize tends to be.
