EuroMillions Deadline Looms
Two Euromillions players have until 5:30pm on Wednesday 9 May, 2007, to each claim their prize of £56,339.70 which was won in the draw on 10 November, 2006. The lottery organisers say that one winner bought their ticket in the Edinburgh area, and that the other ticket was bought in the Hounslow area.
Euromillions players in the UK have up to 180 days from the day of the draw to claim a prize, according to official National Lottery rules. After that deadline has passed any unclaimed prize is added to the fund for Good Causes, which has raised some £20 billion since the National Lottery launched in 1994.
The five main numbers for the Euromillions draw in question, which took place on Friday 10 November, were 14, 21, 27, 30 and 36. Appeals for players to check their old tickets have been made in both the Edinburgh and Hounslow areas, and individuals who think they may have one of the winning tickets should call the National Lottery on 0845 910 0000 without any further delay.
"Time really is running out for the winner of this prize, but we are still hopeful that someone will come forward at the last minute to claim the money," a National Lottery spokesperson said. "We're urging everyone to check their old tickets again or look anywhere a missing lottery ticket could be hiding. It could really help to make a few dreams become a reality for someone out there."
In addition to the two missing Euromillions winners, the National Lottery organisers are also looking for a Lotto winner who bought a ticket in the Tunbridge Wells area for the draw on 15 November, 2006. The ticket won £2,543,170 with the numbers 2, 3, 17, 22, 40 and 42, and the winner has until 5:30pm on 14 May, 2007 to make their claim.
