Euromillions Twelfth Draw
Where were you last Friday night? Well you weren’t winning
the Euromillions lottery jackpot of £103million, in fact no
one was. As for the eleventh week running the jackpot goes unclaimed,
with the numbers being 36, 30, 14, 27 and 21 and the Lucky Stars
were 2 and 3.
This is the second time this year that we’ve had such a long
rollover period. Back in February 2006, the jackpot rolled over
for 11 weeks to £125million, which was won by three players;
but estimates for this Friday put the jackpot value at £120million
(Euros 180million). With that sort of money, a single winner would
become the world’s biggest ever lottery payout winner (Bigger
jackpots have been won in the USA, but after tax and lump-sum trade-offs,
the final sums paid out have not beaten £120million). The
jackpot has not been won for 11 weeks now, rolling over each week,
but this week is special. If the
jackpot is not won, then all that £120million gets allocated
to the next tier. Here, you have to guess the five numbers but
only one lucky star, and the odds of doing this are 1 in five million
(a lot better than one in 76million).
The Sunday Times Rich List would have welcomed you with last Friday’s
jackpot, but if you win £120million you’ll be up at
there at joint 465 place, with David Bowie and the Gibbs brothers
of Saturday Night Fever Fame. In fact, you only have to win £60m
to be there in joint last place!
Now last week Europe went mad buying tickets, so this Friday will
be even busier, so our suggestion is to get out quickly and get
your tickets, as systems are bound to go slow with overload! Camelot
reported sales up 450% last week on previous draws, which means
two million tickets being bought every hour at certain peak times.
And if you are worried that all the money wagered goes into fat
cat pockets, don’t be, £35 million is already allocated
to Good Causes in the UK alone.
