The Secret to Winning?
Winning the lottery is, as we all know, a matter of pure chance. The odds of one set of numbers being drawn are exactly the same as the odds of any other set of numbers being drawn. From a purely mathematical perspective it can therefore be said that the lottery is a totally random event which cannot be influenced by anyone.
Despite this harsh reality, there are a number of people who maintain that players can improve the amount of luck they have in lottery games by using a number of “mind-over-matter” approaches. We don’t believe for a minute that such claims will ever be accepted on any scientific basis, but since the exercises recommended cost nothing and can arguably make playing the lottery even more excited, we thought we’d pass them onto you to try for a few months...
1 – Visualise Winning
Most proponents of ESP and mind-over-matter make visualisation their main weapon in the battle to win the lottery. The idea is that players should sit down in a comfortable chair, close their eyes and visualise – which means vividly imagine – themselves winning. See your numbers come up in your mind’s eye. Try to experience the same feelings of excitement and celebration that you expect to have. Imagine calling the National Lottery line for confirmation of your win. Then visualise yourself receiving your cheque and celebrating your good fortune with friends.
2 – Expect to Win
When you are in the habit of visualising yourself winning the lottery on a daily basis, you can apply the second exercise, which is to expect your visualisation to come true. Mind-over-matter authors say that simply hoping or wishing that you will win isn’t enough, but that you have to really expect it to happen just as surely as you expect the sun to rise each morning. We don’t think it is easy to muster that kind of faith against Lotto odds of 1 in 13,983,816, but if you can do so, give it a whirl.
3 – Kiss Your Ticket
Okay, so it sounds a little strange, but kissing your ticket is said to make it a bit more lucky that it might otherwise be. Quite why this should work is beyond us. Maybe lottery tickets tend to feel a bit neglected if they aren’t shown enough affection. Whatever the reasoning, or lack of it, try giving your ticket a quick kiss the next time you get one. Just don’t do it in public if you value your reputation.
As you have no doubt gathered, we aren’t convinced that the three ideas presented here are as effective as their proponents claim, but if they are the secret to winning we’d like you to be the first to take advantage of them. If mind-over-matter makes sense to you, try using the ideas given, and be sure to let us know if you win.
