Bucket Lists for Lottery Players
The term ‘bucket list’ came to prominence in the 2007 movie The Bucket List starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman, and it refers to a list of things that you would like to do before you die (or ‘kick the bucket’ if you prefer). We here at Lottery.co.uk don’t want to be accused of being a miserable bunch, so we’ve come up with our own idea of bucket lists for lottery players. Here the objective is to make a list of things that you would like to do if and when you manage to fill your metaphorical bucket with cash after winning a jackpot!
We all know that the odds of winning a lottery jackpot are pretty slim, so it makes a lot of sense to squeeze every possible drop of fun from the act of participating in the games themselves. Spending some time thinking seriously about what you would do if you won the jackpot is a great way of doing just that, so here are our tips on how to create an inspirational bucket list of your own.
1 – Grab a Pad
First, grab yourself a notepad and a pencil. Actually writing down a list of things that you would like to do instead of merely thinking about them will make the process a lot more enjoyable. Even more importantly, should your lottery numbers come up you will immediately be able to refer back to your written bucket list and start making things happen!
2 – Take Some Time
Next, set aside some time to write your lottery bucket list so that you can enjoy it. Whether you set aside fifteen minutes, half an hour or longer, take yourself to a quiet spot with your favourite beverage and treat the exercise as a well-deserved spot of self-indulgence.
3 – Imagine the Scene…
Before you start writing anything down, spend a few minutes setting the scene by imagining that you really have won a lottery jackpot. Imagine checking your lottery tickets online and seeing that you have matched all the numbers required to win the jackpot outright. Then imagine how it would feel to realise that you are now a multi-millionaire and can afford to do anything, go anywhere and buy whatever you like. Really imagine this scenario thoroughly so that you feel like a genuine lottery winner.
4 – Write Your List
Now, whilst these feelings of having won a lottery jackpot are still strong, write down as many items on your bucket list as you can think of. List all the things that you would like to buy, all the places that you would like to visit and all the activities that you would like to participate in. Spend as long as you like writing this list until it feels complete, but don’t worry if you forget something because you can always add to it later.
5 – Use the List
Now that you have created your lottery bucket list, you can start using it to get into a winning frame of mind whenever you want. For example, if you want to get that ‘lucky feeling’ whenever you buy your lottery tickets, simply read through the list, imagining yourself being able to be, do and have everything that you have written down. There is no scientific evidence that your attitude can actually help you to win a lottery jackpot, but it certainly can’t harm your chances to think lucky thoughts when you play!
So there it is – our handy guide to bucket lists for lottery players. Consider drawing up a list of your own in the manner suggested, then buy your tickets online and keep your fingers crossed! Good luck!
